Mark Tzintzis

Name// Mark Tzintzis
Position// OMD, Account Director
What’s your current position?
How long have you been in this position?
I’ve been an Account Director for two years working across clients within the retail and insurance categories.
If you could have any job what would it be?
My dream job as a teenager was a music video director… I just thought the visuals I had in my head were much better (or less lame) than what the videos actually were.

…That hasn’t really changed (see Justin Bieber - Love Yourself)
What has surprised you most about working in Media?
The awesome people! Most people outside the industry have this preconceived notion of what media/advertising people are like and it couldn’t be further from the truth.
Do you have a work/life balance?
I don’t think it’s as black and white as that. In a social industry such as ours, it’s much more fluid where work and life aren’t necessarily separated but can work quite well together.
What is your favourite magazine?
The Monthly
How do you describe your job to your friends outside media?
“See that ad on TV?”
“Yeah. Did you make it?”
What are you passionate about?
Delivering results for my clients!
…but seriously – heaps of things. Music, current events, family, friends, etc
What was the last campaign you did with magazines?
We have ongoing magazine activity for Beacon Lighting. It’s a great, high dwell-time medium that allows a brand to show off its product in the best light.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
I’d love to live in New York for a while – just to get that local experience and be profiled in ‘Humans of New York’. BUT, I do think that Melbourne is hands-down the best city in the world!
If you could meet any one person (from history or currently alive), who would it be?
Louis Theroux. He would have so many awesome stories; I could talk to him for days.
…and Jason Alexander; exclusively for the lols.
If you were on the cover of a magazine, which one would it be?
Famous… My salacious affair with Helen Mirren has to come out at some stage.
