Magazine Publishers of Australia (MPA) today announced the appointment of Mary Ann Azer as Executive Director.
Reporting to MPA Chairman, Matthew Stanton, (CEO, Bauer Media), Azer has a remit to leverage MPA members’ (Bauer Media, Pacific Magazines, NewsLifeMedia and Readers Digest) individual strengths and continue to create a greater market presence and understanding of the magazine industry.
A senior executive with 20 years’ experience in marketing, public relations, media, corporate communications, external relations and agency management at Procter & Gamble, Azer takes up the role previously held by Robin Parkes.
Working for P&G in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Middle East, Azer is widely recognised for her outstanding track record of building strong brands such as Gillette, Pantene, Oral- B, Olay, Duracell and many others.
Stanton said: “Mary Ann’s appointment signifies the continuing commitment of the MPA to the ongoing revitalisation and promotion of the magazine publishing industry.

Azer’s appointment is effective from 1st May, 2014.
