Illustrating the unparalleled access and calibre of content featuring in News Corp Australia’s weekly magazine, Stellar celebrates its third birthday this Sunday, with an exclusive cover story on Jennifer Hawkins, publishing only weeks away from the birth of her first child.
Inserted in The Sunday Telegraph and Sunday Herald Sun each week, Stellar, and for that matter, editor-in-chief Sarrah Le Marquand, are renowned for securing exclusive high-profile celebrity interviews – often the only media interview granted a ‘sitdown’, because of the care and empathy shown in their storytelling.
Le Marquand, said: “Our mission remains as strong today as it was when we first launched – to deliver a weekly Sunday magazine like no other, with beautiful photography, the design of a glossy fashion magazine yet filled with the news breaking features and exclusive interviews found in a newspaper.
“We continue to deliver on that mission and our anniversary editions in particular, are always highly anticipated. As the DNA of Stellar lies in celebrating Australian women, our anniversary editions feature iconic Australian women photographed in iconic settings and locations around the country.
“We’re very fond of striking photo shoots, but we’re also about telling stories with substance and empathy. In our cover story, a reflective Jennifer opens up for the first time about her marriage and the difficulty she encountered on her path to motherhood – an experience bound to resonate with many readers,” Le Marquand said.
“With the photo shoot set at sunrise on stunning Hayman Island, Jennifer’s photos are strikingly beautiful.”
Stellar’s third birthday issue will also unveil enhancements to its design, including revamped and expanded Beauty & Wellness pages, and a new “Dear Stellar” column answering reader questions from clinical psychologist Jo Lamble.

One year later Nicole Kidman dived into a pool in LA wearing an Alex Perry ballgown in an image making headlines around the world and declared by the US media as “her best shoot ever.”
Also in the magazine’s second birthday issue, Miranda Tapsell was photographed in Kakadu National Park, with Stellar being one of the very few titles in the world granted permission to shoot there.
