Julian Delany appointed Chief Digital Officer of NewsLifeMedia

NewsLifeMedia CEO Nicole Sheffield announced that Julian Delany has been appointed chief digital officer.

In this newly created position Mr Delany will be responsible for NewsLifeMedia’s overall digital strategy including product development, commercial growth, digital partnerships and new digital assets. He continues to be accountable for news.com.au as managing director of the brand and assumes responsibility of Australia’s number one parenting site, Kidspot.com.au.

Reporting to Ms Sheffield the role is effective immediately.

Ms Sheffield said: “Under Julian’s leadership news.com.au has become the country’s leading digital news source and our largest digital business. This promotion is clear recognition of the outstanding job he has done. As the transformation of our business continues this is a very important appointment for NewsLifeMedia’s future growth with our focus on building high performing digital networks in our key categories of news and lifestyle.”

Mr Delany joined NewsLifeMedia as general manager of news.com.au in September 2012. Under his leadership news.com.au has firmly established its position as the largest news site in the country with the most engaged audience. Nielsen Online Ratings for October 2015 once again placed news.com.au as Australia’s number one digital news brand, a position it has held for 12 consecutive months.

Prior to news.com.au Mr Delany spent 10 years at Foxtel leading the growth of The Weather Channel. He has a strong track record of building brands, developing products that connect with consumers and using the latest technologies to deliver results.
